Located in Bengeri Extension, Gopankoppa Road, Bengeri Central is an auditorium that is visited mainly by the Dharwad city population, Shantinagar, Bengeri, and Keshwapur. It is now an amazing place to hold events as it can now hold up to 800 people and is supported by spacious parking and clean bathrooms. The best thing is that after all this upgrade, the price for rent of this hall is still reasonable at just Rs. 5000 for a half-day event, and Rs. 10000 for a full-day event. It is available for easy booking and can be booked with a refundable deposit of just Rs. 1000 at the time of the booking.
Known as one of the oldest buildings in the city, Chitaguppi Hospital has been offering selfless services to patients for several years. This hospital was constructed using mud, wood, and Mangalore tiles, which needed desperate repairs. HDSCA stepped in to renovate it and preserve the hospital’s legacy. It is now a two-story building that also has a basement. The Smart City Hubli mission developed it in three phases, including a maternity block, a hospital block, and an administrative block.

Green Mobility Corridor is a dream project made into reality by the efforts of HDSCAS. It got a funding grant overseen by the European Union. The proposed project aimed to create an 8.5 km stretch over the Unkal Nala, with a walking track, bicycle track, sewerage diversion, and a drain lining. The aim of this project was also to lower down the carbon footprint of these twin cities and make them more sustainable. Now, this dream project stands beautifully, allowing people to commute easily amidst its beautiful landscape design.
Thanks to the hard work of the HDSCAS for constructing an Integrated Sports Complex for the Fit India Campaign. This smart complex is spread across 15 acres and features 19 indoor and outdoor sports facilities. Out of which, the area covered for outdoor facilities is 6.75 acres, which is divided into 5 blocks. The officials are expecting that it will be the place to produce future sports champions.
Mahatma Gandhi Park or the MG Park has been restored by the HDSCA efficiently as part of the Hubballi Dharwad Smart City Limited Mission. It now has better and new attractions like a skating rink, a musical fountain, a toy train, and a place to watch shows and relax. At the same time, vendors selling eatables here are also supposed by the park now.
Taking into consideration the parking hassles of the people living in Hubli Dharwad, the HDSCAS also took the initiative to develop a Multi-Level Car Parking (MLCP) complex. This complex has a wide built-up area of 1,22,500 square feet and allows entries and exists using a smart card system. It will also soon feature a bike-sharing design and advertising through digital billboards.

Tagged as a popular sports venue for hosting various sports, cultural, and city events, the Nehru Ground came into existence in 1958. Its infrastructure has weakened over the years and needed an ardent upgrade. Now, with the efforts of HDSCA, it has turned into a modern multi-sport facility. It now boasts of indoor and outdoor sports such as mat wrestling, kabaddi, basketball, and football. It will soon have a refurbished seating area and a VIP lounge with a feature wall depicting the rich Indian culture.
In order to promote greener alternatives for public commuting, the HDSCAS also completed the project of Public Bicycle Sharing Hubballi. The completed project now offers 34 electric-powered bicycles along with 34 docking stations throughout the city, and 306 conventional multi-speed bicycles. To use this facility in Hubli and Dharwad, users must register on the Savari App and pay a security deposit along with a subscription fee.
Tolankere Lake is like a new feather in the hat because it is a new attraction to the recreational spots in the twin cities of Hubballi – Dharwad. The idea with which HDSCA developed it was to develop the lake and surround it with a park to offer a calm and serene spot to rejuvenate and relax amidst the lap of nature. Tolankere Lake now has a reflexology path, a zen garden, a promenade, a yoga space, and an open gym. Besides, it also has a play area, an amphitheater, and a food kiosk.
Unkal Lake is yet another significant project that enhanced the natural landscape of Hubli City. Built by Bharat Ratna Sir M. Vishwesharayya, this 100-year-old lake has now been restored. Earlier it was turning out to be a dumping ground and a place for cattle washing. HDSCAS has efficiently stepped in to restore its natural beauty by removing all the garbage, weeds, and hyacinths in the 1st phase of this mission. In the second phase, there will be proper fencing and a gabion wall along with the plantation of new vegetation.
